A one month voyage form Bundaberg QLD traveling to the earthquake stricken western Provence of Gizo Islands departing soon, transporting 10 tones (20 cubic meters) of donated emergency aid cargo such as much needed medical supplies, generators, chainsaws, clothes, blankets and food such as basic items like rice and powdered milk.
AUD$2000 Volunteers share cost crew, which includes all food and meals, port entry fee's, Lights and bou's and vessel fuel.
We are a basic square rig sailing vessel, well found, launched in 2000, 14 days traditional sailing to Gizo, spending one week distributing aid, with a 7 day ocean crossing return to Bundaberg QLD. This is a once in a life time opportunity to not only help the earthquake stricken 3rd word county and experience a world unlike our own. Yet also experience a ocean passage on a traditional sailing vessel exploring paradise islands, exotic lagoons, fishing, diving, snorkeling and surfing also square rig sailing on the high sea's.

RAINBOW GYPSY
The replica of a 1897 Scottish sailing trawler the Rainbow Gypsy launched in 1999 With 15.3 LWL a 16ft beam, weighing 32 tone, carries 382 sq m of sail, with a gay leash ketch rig which has a few mechanical aids.
The traditional rig requires a high level of fitness from all it's crew, there is a fully modern galley providing three wholesome meals a day, also containing nine bunks, master cabin, toilet, shower & laundry area.
Rainbow Gypsy is sponsored by Timex sports since launched the vessel has completed three trips to the Solomon Islands, Bank group, Tories group, and Vanuatu, working closely with global care we have managed to deliver 9.5 tone of medical, educational, clothing and other aid to a great many Islands. The annual voyage departs Bundaberg's QLD from the Burnett Heads marina on a 45 day round trip which includes traditional sail training, swimming, surfing, deep water fishing, volunteer crew should all be willing fit and able to cope with the challenges and adventures the high seas may bring.
Trip four in September 2008 is departing from Coffs Harbour to Vanuatu, Villa and Espirito Santos, Banks Group and Torres Group and Santa Cruz Island, Solomon Islands. It's a 55 day voyage arriving Port Bundaberg 1st November 2008. Experienced volunteer voyage crew on share cost basis required.
